(La Oveja Negra)

"La Oveja Negra" traces its roots back to 1945, when Mrs. Abigail Martinez founded the restaurant "Las Delicias" in the city of Tulancingo, Hidalgo. She later acquired "El Jonuco" to expand her market within the same city. In 1969, "La Oveja Negra" began operations in Mexico City, becoming the first restaurant from Tulancingo to specialize in barbacoa. Since then, our restaurant has grown and earned a prestigious reputation for our traditional barbacoa preparation and the high quality of our products.

Commitment to Quality

We contribute to the development of sheep farming processes by closely monitoring the entire meat supply chain. This begins with livestock feed that is 100% natural—completely free of anabolic steroids—and continues through to the final preparation of our dishes.

Today, our company operates its own balanced feed plant. A portion of this production is dedicated to the "La Oveja Negra" ranch, where livestock are classified by breed, weight, and size before being sent to our restaurants or our fine-cuts packing facility.
